Name Our Cat And Win A Prize

Comments

I like the photo with the cat next to the Wii. How about Mimii?
raf
The Waco Kid
Malady
Widget

Fart Master 5000
How about gizzle?
Oooh, I like Widget, too! She's small and compact but can you install her in one click?
Oh, and I've always wanted to have a little dog and name it Pixel.
she kind of looks like a beatrice to me, and i think i read somewhere that beatrice/beatriz/beatrix (all the bea varieties) means "happy, bringer of joy".

i think it'd work out.

() ()
(-.-)

p.s.
can i use my ten dollars on cat treats? ;)
[this is good]
she is SO cute!!!!!!! I think you should name her... Twilight... Twilight Princess... or just Princess... in honor of Zelda on the Wii. hehehe. don't we wish all kitties would stay that small when they become cats!
[this is good]
Adorable.

My suggestion is 'Miss Kitty Fantastico'
i don't have a name suggestion, but is kitten a bengal or a tabby?
Moose.
bitty
how about Lucky?
Nermal. Just because. She looks like a Nermal.
Beast. (are we allowed multiple entries?)
hey jennifer - we think she's a tabby.... but since she's from a cat rescue, we really don't know.
Euphreka
[this is good]
Mimi for sure!

Squidgie is a good name for a farting mini cat.

okay, this is kind of an offshoot of what someone else said, but i think you should name her pixii.

pixies being small and (usually) cute, and there's a wii in one of those photos, and it's just a funky name. i name all my cats weird stuff (mercedes, morgan, nieve, saoirse, etc). i like some of the other names so far too, so i won't feel bad if you don't choose mine :]
Our Benevolent Dictator, Chairwoman Maow Tzedong
[this is good]
Ok, I'm gonna give you a list of names to choose from:
Destroyer
Teeny
Pocket
iCat
Squint
Gigi
Bet
Miumiu (pronouced mew-mew)
and last but not least... weeble.
Tim
Itsy Izzy, Gummers, Wiible (Wiibles wobble, but they don't fall down ;) )
Hey! Weeble sucks, Wiible is where it's at!
Ooops...posted under a photo instead of here....my choice: Callie.
1. Tinkerbell
2. Peanut
3. Miffy
4. Tigger
5. Gums
mookie
windy
catzilla
frodo

[this is good]
cute cat!! how about...

Pi
Keebler
or
Chopstick

(random, yes, but they all sound like cute little cat names to me)

Puttycat. =)

Meg

name it "7." george costanza lovers everywhere, rejoice!

kind of scary though: kitty looks exactly like my old cat, Sage o_0

Cosita (means Thingy in spanish)

Starla or Sandoz
a new one I heard today is "Friggon"
Nipsy
Ham Hock (Hammy for short)
Satchel
Fang
Wilma
Flatus the cat

Are her eyes ALWAYS squinted? If so.. I'd go with MAGGO
My vote is for Lickumz, Looks like she's always licking her whiskers or tryin to clean off her face, im sure w/o any teeth, eating can get kinda messy.
Kitn?
Kleenex or Tissue. Denture. And she kinda looks like a Basil. It's androgynous.

Lol, I second that notion.

ari
Micro n_n!
ss

She is so wee - I love the pictures that show her size in proportion to other objects.

How about Miss Bitsy?

Kim
Winky, because a) it's the name of a cute little female house elf in Harry Potter, and b) because she's squinting/winking in her pictures
[this is good]
1. Kylie Minogue
2. Pocket Princess
3. Swizzle Stick.

;-)
cat party
Katamichi
[this is good]

I would call her puddin'. That's what she eats, what her farts smell like, and she is sweet and smooth as puddin.

Good luck with that - I have the godzilla of cats - a twenty pound tabby called Petey - he has a full set of teeth and back claws and loves to play and lick people with his sandpaper tongue

thansk for this opportunity

[this is good]
I used to think the same thing!! Then I finally got my own dog and he didn't look much like a Pixel. One day...

This is a really cute idea. My vote is for Steve. There just aren't enough pets named Steve these days. ;)

Good luck!!

Pluto.
[this is good]
Smoopie or Spoobie.
Popoki (POH' poh kee) - means cat in hawaiian :)

Auli'i [au lee' ee] - means dainty, cute, exquisite, Perfect, Trim, Nice

"Mewskers McMeowerston"

I'm also fond of "Hello" or "Goodbye" - so you sound crazy when you're calling the cat... "Hello! Helllllowwww? Come here, Hello! psss-psst-psst, Hello-Hello-Helloooooow!"

Mewtron

Gato de Gaso

Jinx =)

I wanted to say "Fang", but I was beaten to it. So, I say Tully, even though it's a girl (we have a problem with proper gender names in our household of pets anyway - Eli is a girl, Blackjack is a girl, etc.), in honor of Tully's, which was on 24th, but was replaced by the inferior Spinelli's, which has probably been replaced by something else since I left Noe Valley seven years ago.

By the way, she's really cute. I wish our kittens had grown up to be, well, kittens, and not ginormous cats.

Sisquo. Yeah. I don't know.

Sonja

Sillyface

Scuzzy

My kitties are teeny and two years old. One's Nadia, the other is Uiscebeatha (water of life)...Whiskey.

She looks like an Idgit. ^ ^;

Junebug
Spritz
Francine

babykitty!
It's what we end up calling our cats, Squee and Miles. I think if I could do it over I'd just name all my cats babykitty. Especially itty bitty ones.

Or, Lola. She looks like a Lola.
[this is good]
A.. name? Well, a friend of mine, when she got her kitten, she named it Nova. Bizarre name, but nobody ever gets confused. For yours? How about; Crux. The smallest constellation, also known as the Southern Cross.
Fun, I asked my 'friends' to name my new kitten on MySpace - ended up with some good ones! Ultimately chose:

Lady Eleanor Rosakitty the 1st, 'Ellie' for short. For your lovey, what about:

+Hulabulaboolabubblyboo (to be exlaimed as Hulabulaboolabubblyboo oh kitty kitty how we love you!)
+Gummo (remember that film?)
+Itty Bitty Pretty Kitty

Voxy Cleopatra.....Cleo for short.

And how sad it must be to be allergic to one's self.

i think your cat suits the name 'Modem'.
KB
[this is good]
Marge
Droobles
Nibbles McKatenheimer

[this is good]

Name him Noobcake. XD

Wow, I'm such a nerd.

[this is good]
she looks like a spider to me.
[this is good]
Gizmo
Ella Fitzgerald
Cuddles the Evil Kitten
Munchkin
[this is good]
i like the name sushi
what about Delphi, its an old greek mythology name. It's the name of the city that was considered closest to the gods. Or how about Ajax he was a greek warrior (aka the kitten is kinda of a warrior for getting all her teeth taking out) Or Athena is cool it's the greek goddess of wisdom I also like Callisto too!
Pooter

My suggestion is

kismet - meaning fate or destiny :)

[this is good]
i do also have a cat, maybe ill name it... sabb, or tiffa
[esto es genial]
gumby....or pokey!
Pywacket! (It's the name of the cat in the movie "Bell, Book, and Candle.") It's such a delightfully silly name.
im not a huge fan of 'cute' ,cuddly names... i saw a picture of elizabeth taylor (her younger days) the other day...it was beautiful!.her eyes captured me...and this little kitten reminded me of that photograph...therefore, i recomend the name, elizabeth taylor.
how about 'wee'? a play on 'wii' and with stripes, too!
squint
[esto es genial]

I love cats!

And the name is Bijou (jewel), that´s the name of my blog too. Just I found it sekseee...

Melor. (it's pronounced muh-lore)
its a Malay word for a type of small white flower. haha sorry only malay-word names come to mind right now, how rare. maybe cause I know of someone who named a sewing machine this (totally unrelated).

Mocha

Moochoo

Wuvable

Coco

Belladonna

I think the name A-Mused would be very fitting! She's obviously fun to have around and in Greek mythology the muses were nine (a cat has nine lives) goddesses who embody the myths and since she is a rescue cat she can evoke the spirits to help her survive.
Sheik!
you could also name it 134340 or Pluto --
how about misty?
I seriously agree with Widget

Also I think Eric is a great name for a cat, not for any reason, it's just a very catty name... even for a female.

I suggest Kate Moss. Why? "...ultra-compact, weighing less than 5lbs..." (Well, that part should be self-explanatory.) "She has absolutely no teeth" (the British aren't exactly world-reknowned for advances in orthodontics). "...has a runny nose" (Bit of a stretch from allergies to certain illicit substances, but they probably have the runny nose in common). "...a big attention whore." (supermodel tendencies!) Not sure about the smelly farts bit, but 4/5 ain't bad! Clearly, Kate Moss is the name to run with here. It just makes sense.

My suggestion is Webster. Emmanuelle Lewis was small, too.
She is so cute. Cute as a button - so I vote 'Button'.
[this is good]
pocket
licks
petrol
ms. beans

I think "Sneezy" would fit nicely for her runny nose. Best of luck with her.

Kind of an odd name but here's what I thought of:

Squidgle.

^_^

hm. I've always wanted a really big dog and to call him something ridiculously cute. And at the same time own a pug called Bazooka. That would also be a lovely name for a wee kitten :)
One of our cats also had a problem with gas when he was younger. We called him Stinky, and the name has stuck to this day. BTW, his brother is Weasel, after the title character in I Am Weasel.
Minmi.
Another name I thought of:

Gummy Kitty

or Gummy Cat
Sol

Pepé le Peu, after the cartoon skunk... :)

the one who always falls in love with kitties...

Amadeus?

HELLO KITTY! :P

What about Nat?

how about sponge as she'll alsways be a drain on resources or snuffy
She looks like a Roma to me! Good luck with naming your cat!
[this is good]
gummy bear
Bridgett the Midget
nikuda! it means 'dot' in hebrew.
[this is good]
Pounce de Léon
Cat-5
The Great Catsby
The Sundance Kat
[this is good]
she's so cute! i like the name Teenie. or RAGE aka The Locker of Hurt.

@ebeth: chopstick? Chopstork!

Or if we're going with foriegn languages: Chibi (tiny/little in Jap)

SBD... as in "Silent, But Deadly"
What about Thalia? This was one of The Graces of Greek Mythology. The Graces were three goddesses that personified the life giving rays of the sun and restored joy to any they touched. "Thalia" means the flowering one.
Wookii! Or ... Ewok. Or actually... how about Darth... kitty. Or just plain ole' R2D2.

i say...waffles ^_^

seems to me that if you have trouble naming pets, you can always name them after some kind of food.

works every time :)

Spy
Punky Mewster?
dee
Paka, Which I'm told is Ugandan for cat.
[this is good]
How about

Yasmina (jasmine, fragrant flower, makes great tea)
Rosemary (a fragrant herb, symbolizes remembrance)
Surabhi (sandalwood, fragrance)

because she's a petite, feminine kitty, as pretty as a flower. And having a fragrant name might make her a little more, er, fragrant.
She looks as though she needs an "m" name to me. Millie. Maggie. Something M.
[this is good]
I dunno...the name "Bit-Bit" comes to mind
[this is good]
Mrs. Kitty Fantastical.
she is cute!

candy
queen
violet
love
mime
Netty
[this is good]
fiorella - little flower in italian
Inès - (ee-nez) a cute french name
fetchy - just a name i like

what a fun post! good luck on finding a name. I just got a kitten Tuesday and name him Giovanni.

[this is good]
Sushi or
Chloe

[this is good]
Poota. In honor of her gaseous ways ... :)
Gus
I think Isobel.
[this is good]

Whiskers McFartenstein the Third esquire (Whisk for short)

Or perhaps the ever popular

Farty Mc Farterbean the Farting freak of ( insert your town name, street name here ) but call her Jello for short.

Dram or maybe petit

How about inch or maybe centime

Penguin

Pistachio

Nutter

Cashew

Macadamia

< I have gone a bit nutty here with the names >

How about Fee Mc Guillacuddy Bronstein of Yonkers

Ok now i am just bizarre

Oh there you go Bizarre and call her Bee or Biz for short

Well thats all I got good luck in finding the perfect name for the wee bitty puss puss...

Nox
The cat shall be called...

Pandora
Tawny is my only thought. She's so cute, great pictures!
how about diggums? it occurred to me because of the children's series Artemis Fowl - see
Artemis Fowl on Wikipedia. One of the characters is a dwarf called Mulch Diggums with very um... explosive farts. While the dwarf isn't exactly cute, the name diggums sounds kind of fun. :)

Spike

According to my cat, Ziggy, she could use a name with some serious heft to counterbalance her petiteness and lack of teeth.
Tupperware! best name ever... I think.
[this is good]
Pidgeon!
[this is good]
i have many cats..
every time i chose a new type of names.. for example..
people names.. japanese names or indian names..
sakura or miwako or lady cecilia
or my favourite..
LADY fart-and-sneeze-a-lot!
Kylie Gass -- in tribute to one ass-kicking half of the band Tenacious D, and also to pay tribute to the tooting. Double the pleasure, double the fun! ;-)
[this is good]
I second that suggestion.

How about Killer? Simple, succinct, and sure to inspire fear in the neighbors.
i did not read all of the above suggestions. just call him "noname" and pronnounce it so that it sounds japanese.
The wii made me think of my old Dreamcast and a potential name for your kitty - Shenmue. But I've just eaten dinner, so:

1. Tomato
2. Rocket (also known as arugula)
3. Tuna
4. Pepper
5. Lemon
6. Capellini [sounds better than pasta, no?]
7. Truffle (as in oil. certainly can't afford the real thing!)
...one more for prosperity, and apologies if it's been listed: Voxette!!
Bea
I'm not too good with cats names (mine are called Whee and Chainsaw...) but here are my suggestions:
Minime
Titch
Wee Lass
iCat Nano

She's very cute whatever the name!

Hard to name a cat or dog for that matter without meeting them in person however since the cat in question is all the way over on the other coast and in a different country I'll give it a go from here.

My name for her would be Rose. "A rose by anyother name would..." As for her farts once, she is off the antibiotics for her eyes etc her digestion should get back to normal.

My menagerie says meow, meow, meow, woof from the East Coast.

[this is good]
This is the greatest idea ever! Your kitty is super cute! :) Here are a few suggestionsL

Lilliputian (Lilli for short)
Lump (from the old Presidents song!)
Wee
Bitte
Bitsie
Definitely Elliot or Winston. Those names rules. Or you could always use Robin Bobinschinszel...
Peg
I posted under a picture so this is repeat.
Catpig for the attention whore trait.
Gingavitis for the dental issue.
And how could you go wrong with
Phooey
i've always wanted to name a cat lobster.
Marcie.

noname is a good name.

some others suitable for a cat:

- anyung ("my real name is Hello!")
- Buto (search it)
- Isis (probably found on the same page as buto)
- Bushi (cree)
- Gnari Fula
- Tony

Ripley (as in from the Alien movies).
Didn't read through all of the others, but how about Megabyte? Or Gigabyte. Because of the irony...since she can't bite.
[this is good]
She is so cute. Name her something very unique. I work at a vet clinic, and everyone has a pet named "Princess" or "Lucky" or something very ordinary.

My picks would be:

-Binx
-Scout (I always wanted a girl cat named Scout, and a big dog named Boo Radley.)
-Mouse
-Peach
-Clementine
-Hazel
-Ada (I like old names; I don't know why.)

I also second those people that suggested Pixel and Pywacket.

Hi Nick, Since this lil' darlin' is plastering your vox blog page with her cuteness. And thankyou for posting her cuteness, I think VOXIE, BLOGGET, or EMPRESS VOX would all fit. Good luck

Indy

Milhouse, and Millie for short. Or Ralph Wiggum, or some variation like Wiggums or Ralphie.

I also just though of Ramona or Beezus, from the Beverly Cleary Children's books.
[this is good]
I didn't read everyone else's comments so I don't know if its already been suggested but I thought "Kiwii" would be a cool name.
[this is good]
I read many of the other suggestions and I would like to add a Cat's perspective.

1. Itty bitty kitty committee (could be shortened in many ways)
2. Piper
3. Hazel
4. PBS (pronounced "Pibbs", but short for Pretty but Stinky)
5. Midgie
6. Anabellle Lee McKittensen
7. Miss Kitty
8. LoverCat
9. Sweetness/Cuddles/etc. (any of the pleasant things that come to mind when you hold her)
10. Ariel
11. Schmoo (because her fur is so soft...I get called that sometimes; it's like a slurred version of "smoooooooth")

Best of luck with this -- my human had a really hard time naming me and, ten years later, the newest addition to our house. Remember, you can name cats one thing and call us many different things. As we grow on you, many new names will emerge. Don't worry about that -- we know when you're talking to us.

Meow.
Big

:)
[this is good]

Name that kitten;

How about “Nibbler” in reference to the nibbler and the Nibblonians in Futurama. That would be a cool name for a toothless kitten of either sex. Of course, all cats have three names; the one we call them, the one other cats call them and the one they call themselves. Dad always mentioned that in his theory of naming Cats. He also mentioned the cat's hear the should of the letter "s" particularly well as they are adapted to hear the hissing of other cats, so "Sasha" “Sara” “Sazsu” or any other “S” laden name will be more affective for getting her attention.

Queef

Smidgin

Dude. Katamari!
Woah, I second that. Fo shizza!
I actually have a kitten named Ripley, preceded by another stray named Bishop. Are you sensing a theme here? In general, I like to give my animals some sort of name that relates back to literature or popular culture; I previously had cats named Barnabas and Pyewackett, for example. So, looking at your books/audio/video available on Vox, I submit the following suggestions:

- Fight Club: Marla (fits in with the other Voxers who felt she needed an M name)
- The Crow: Sarah (simple, but since she was the little girl in the movie, ties in)
- Logan's Run: Jessica 6 or Holly 13 (odd, but I like it; be wary of people accusing you of cloning, though)
- Willie Wonka: Veruca Salt or Violet Beauregard (I love the idea of a pet having a full name like this)

Unfortunately, I haven't read any of OSC's Ender series, so I'm drawing a blank there!

I don't know if anyone has suggested it, but I think Azrael is a swell name. Like the cat from the Smurfs.
1) I'd like to second "iCat Nano" because it rolls off the tongue.
2) Toulouse LauCat (LauChat?), both tiny with health problems
3) Iota
4) Mushmouth, or better yet and my number one top choice, Ubbi Dubbi

hmmm, I have two cats...and yours looks like a sweet and charming one....I will call her " Midnight"
How about Nulishi? A shortening and running together of New Little Sh*t. :-)
Does this cat have eyes? I haven't seen a picture with its eyes open :)

How about 'stinky'?
How about Roxanne?
did you pick a name yet?
NO TEETH!!! That is so cutely wonderful. I suggest, call her Dribbler, or Dribbles.
Violin maybe...
Try Newton.
[this is good]
Rumpleteazer. Because the naming of cats is a difficult matter, and T.S. Eliot had some gems in Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats.
Nick
Thanks for all the comments everyone, we've decided on a name. I'll post about it soon!
