While this is all very interesting and stuff (not that I know a whole lot about cars), it does still seem a little arcane to be running everything based off a single belt and little knobbly bits. Didn't anyone tell these guys that we can use solenoids these days? (I really don't have any idea what I'm talking about, solenoids probably have 100x greater failure rate than the belt-and-knobbly system for all I know)
While eating lunch today, Jamison, Jason and I decided that the standard for sandwich ordering is simply not at the same level as Web 2.0. To rectify this I have drawn up the first document pertaining to the consistent and well-defined ordering of bread-based edibles ("sandwiches").
Naturally, each SML (sandwich markup language) file is enclosed by the <bread></bread> tag even if it has attributes face="open". Bread types may be specified with the type="[wheat,white,french-roll,...]" attribute among other attributes.
The amount of each ingredient on your sandwich is defined not by weight but by bread-width and bread-height. These defaults are set by your local sandwich-making establishment to keep creativity and diversity in the sandwich industry flowing. Only if you're particular about your <tomato type="sliced"> size should you worry about setting height="0.5bh" (slices that are half the height of one your bread slices). <chicken type="grilled"> may come in width="1.5bw" if you'd like chicken overflowing from the sides of your sandwich or "0.25bw" if you're trying to pretend that you're a vegetarian.
In addition, SML files may be validated for vegetarian, vegan or other types of limitations (such as nut-free) as well as simple valid markup (the <bacon> tag may contain a <sausage> tag but the <sausage> tag cannot be wrapped around other tags). Badges will be made in short order to assure that you can announce your support of kosher, gluten-free sandwiches on your blog.
The MML (meat markup language) is a substandard of SML and will be independently maintained to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of meat and fake-meat ingredients for sandwiches.
I expect that San Francisco lunch places will soon pick up this standard and keep us on the cutting edge of 'Wich 1.0. Expect AJAS (asynchronous javascript and SML) ordering and TrackWich (tell your blog what you ate!) standards within the next couple months. Finally, we will have a web standard where <spam> is a good thing.
Please leave you additions to SML in the comments.
So, our roommate is moving out on the 1st of April and Rebecca and I are looking for someone to take her place. We're currently scouring craigslist but that can be a crapshoot. If you know anyone that wants to live in a nice 3BR place in Noe Valley, backyard, nice kitchen with two mellow (somewhat, kinda mellow without major drama) people, do give me a hollar.
Craigslist post here for the details: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/roo/295834282.html
Show us your Mii.
You're just rubbing it in because no one answered my Question of the Wii last week, aren't you? BTW, gold medals were obtained in cow racing and billiards this weekend.
Anyway, I created a new, more accurate mii at miieditor.com and I've been meaning to use all the fancy bluetooth connection stuffs to upload it to my wiimote and then on to the wii to replace my current one but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. All my wii friends will just have to live with the old one for now.
If you're a member of the Wii group and haven't posted to the group yet, here's your chance! Answer the improvised Question of the Wii and post it to this group!
The question is: "Do you have Wii Play yet? What's your top score in Tanks/Fishing/Cow Racing?"

Welcome to your addictive flash adventure game of the week!

I love these point-and-click puzzles. Anyone know of any other good ones?
It was a tough day for hiking in the city. Too damn nice out.
It was an even tougher day navigating through brush like this. Naturally, becca mapped our way right into the swamp.
